Fun and engaging music lessons

At The Juke of York Music Academy, we teach music differently. We aim to have our students feel relaxed and focussed while learning music, keeping the journey fun and rewarding. The academy was co-founded by Pete York in 2013, with a vision to spread his passion and knowledge of music throughout the UK and worldwide. We encourage you to harbour a passion for learning music. We make each lesson fun, engaging and informative.

We also offer guidance and knowledge of how music works, online tutorials, and a yearly group performance.

The benefits of learning to play an instrument

Learning to play an instrument can increase your confidence, concentration and focus. It can also help you develop patience, and learn to be a team player. Along with improved memory, it can also calm and strengthen the nervous system. After all, music is a healthy form of self-expression. It can also enhance your listening skills.

Especially in children, music can enhance their skills in all aspects of education and social interaction. The Juke of York Music Academy has been set up to help every individual learn to thrive in all aspects of their academic and personal life.

Seasoned musicians in London

Pete is a really good teacher because he makes learning the guitar fun, he makes it easy to understand and shows you clearly how to do things. If you get things wrong, Pete encourages you to keep going. I've had 4 lessons with Pete and I've learnt 3 chords, how to strum, how to tune my guitar correctly and heaps more. Pete is the best and is really cool!
